Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling addressed fallen Chicago police officer Enrique Martinez's family at a funeral service on Monday.

Hundreds of law enforcement officers stood at attention on the north lawn of St. Rita of Cascia church Monday morning, rain sprinkling down on them, as pallbearers carried the casket of slain Chicago Police Officer Enrique Martinez inside the church.

Martinez, 26, was shot and killed during a traffic stop near 80th and Ingleside on Nov. 4. CBS News Chicago will cover the procession and the services from outside the chapel.

Snelling laid out the challenges the department is facing—and how, following the imposition of a consent decree, it can help to create a culture change to form a top police department in the country.

A bagpipe band played outside on the overcast morning as uniformed officers awaited the arrival of a procession carrying Martinez's body to St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel.

There was a long line of first responders from all over the city and state coming to celebrate the life and legacy of Chicago Police Officer Enrique Martinez Sunday.
