Portola returns to Pier 80 for its third consecutive year of bringing some of the best in dance music to San Francisco.

Pier 80 transformed this weekend — not into a "Game of Thrones" pop-up or headquarters for a yacht \-racing team — but rather the concrete grounds for San Francisco's largest electronic music event, Portola Music Festival.

For the last two years, Portola Music Festival has presented electronic dance music’s biggest acts along San Francisco’s waterfront for tens of thousands of fans. It has also irritated many of its neighbors in the city and the East Bay whose homes have been literally shaken by the outdoor event’s vibrations.

The Portola Music Festival is back at Pier 80 in San Francisco this weekend with a line-up including such popular acts as Rüfüs Du Sol and Disclosure. Some residents as far away as Alameda are bracing for the noise.

On Saturday, tens of thousands of electronic music fans descended on Pier 80 for San Francisco’s annual Portola Festival. Attendees flocked to the port to dance to A. G. Cook, throwback acts like Soulwax and sway to the Lava La Rue.
