The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office confirmed that a mountain lion was sighted in the Bennet area. Home surveillance and game cameras captured photos and video of the animal between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. The mountain lion was moving east, away from Bennet, which is about 20 miles southeast of Lincoln.

The cougar was near 176th Street and Bennet Road, about 1 mile east of Bennet, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. The person who reported it woke up about 3 a.m., when they got a notification from their trail camera.
