Jorge Martin was crowned the 2024 MotoGP world champion after he finished third at the season-ending Solidarity Grand Prix, which was won by his title rival Francesco Bagnaia.

Jorge Martin has secured the 2024 MotoGP World Championship title, becoming the first independent rider in the modern era to do so. Despite a strong challenge from Francesco Bagnaia, Martin's consistent podium finishes and strategic riding throughout the season earned him enough points to clinch the championship in the final race at Barcelona.

The 26-year-old, nicknamed the 'Martinator', also ensured that Ducati-Pramac became the first independent team to win the rider's title since Valentino Rossi in 2001, the final year of 500cc racing.
