The barrage of missiles from Iran followed “localized” ground raids by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon to root out Hezbollah fighters.

Daniel Hagari told reporters that Israeli forces have crossed the border to collect information and destroy infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah militant group. He says they also blew up tunnels and arsenals.

Israel sent soldiers into southern Lebanon, intensifying its weeks-long campaign to severely weaken the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group and raising the risks of a wider regional conflict.
