A well-known Baton Rouge mental health therapist was found murdered and wrapped in a tarp alongside a roadway in Tangipahoa Parish, investigators said.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death after a body was found wrapped in a tarp along Highway 51 on Sunday morning.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified the man whose body was found on the side of Highway 51 Sunday morning. TPSO says the victim is William Nicholas Abraham, 69, of Baton Rouge. Preliminary investigation says his manner of death is blunt force trauma and cause of death is a homicide.

William Nicholas Abraham was found dead along a highway near Tangipahoa Village. He died from blunt force trauma from homicide, officials said.

The vehicle, a black Lincoln MKX, belonged to William Abraham, police said. Abraham, 69, of Baton Rouge, was found dead of blunt force trauma, rolled in tarp on the side of La. 51 between Fluker and the village of Tangipahoa, shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday.
