Miami-Dade County, once a Democratic base, is showing a shift toward Republican support, largely driven by increased backing from Hispanic voters, particularly Cuban-Americans with conservative views.

Former President Trump will prevail comfortably in Florida’s Miami-Dade County, a heavily Hispanic area that until recently was a Democratic stronghold, according to projections. Trump led Vice President Harris in the county by about 11 points with nearly 95 percent of the vote counted as of 8:45 p.

Donald Trump is poised to win Florida’s Miami-Dade County by a wide margin, a sign of how sharply the former battleground state has moved to the right. In 2020, Democrat Joe Biden won 53.7% of the vote in the county.
