David Ortiz believes that Juan Soto's hitting ability along with his leadership is exactly what the Red Sox need.

Ortiz, who is a Red Sox legend, has mentored Soto for years, as both players hail from the Dominican Republic. Soto grew up watching Ortiz, Pedro Martinez and Manny Ramirez. Ortiz believes that Soto and fellow Dominican Rafael Devers could be Boston's new era of Ortiz and Ramirez.

While many believe that the New York Mets and the New York Yankees are the two clear favorites to sign Juan Soto, there could be a dark horse candidate. The Boston Red Sox reportedly met with Soto on Thursday, and could be in play to sign the superstar free agent.
