A man was arrested on suspicion of homicide in the stabbing death of a Sacramento woman found dead in August 1980 with her child as the sole witness, the Sacramento Police Department said Wednesday. Helen Terry was stabbed to death Aug.

Police said that the woman had filed a paternity suit against a man she believed was the father of her son. That man has now been arrested in connection to her death more than 40 years later. READ MOR

Robert Lee Terry, 81, was first identified as a suspect through DNA evidence in 2016. The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office later filed a murder charge.
