Republican U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley won reelection Tuesday in Missouri, fending off a challenge from Democrat Lucas Kunce.

Republican Sen. Josh Hawley faced Democratic challenger Marine veteran Lucas Kunce in his bid for reelection. Hawley was elected to the Senate in 2018, defeating two-term Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill. Prior to that, he served as the attorney general of Missouri from 2017 to 2019.

Missouri voters chose to retain incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley in Tuesday’s 2024 General Election, according to the Associated Press.

Josh Hawley defeated Lucas Kunce in a race for a Missouri U.S. Senate seat, the Associated Press reported. Hawley, the Republican incumbent, wins his second consecutive six-year term for the Senate seat.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Lucas Kunce closed out his campaign with four days of television ads costing $366,000 while incumbent Republican Josh Hawley is making his final argument with $325,000 of ads during Monday night’s Kansas City Chiefs game.
