At least 39 people have become sick and one person has died in connection with an E. coli outbreak linked to organic carrots, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced. According to the CDC,

The carrots were sold from August to October at stores such as Trader Joe's, Wegmans, Target and Walmart among others.

Grimmway Farms, based in Bakersfiled, California, has recalled the carrots, which included whole and baby organic carrots sold in bags under multiple brand names including 365, Cal-Organic, Nature's Promise, O-Organics, Trader Joe's and Wegmans, among others.
