CHICAGO - Chicago is gearing up for a week of fluctuating weather, with rain and even snow on the horizon. The National Weather Service forecasts a chance of isolated showers or sprinkles tonight. Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning, periods of rain are expected.

Late Sunday, more than 25 million people were covered by National Weather Service watches and warnings related to winter storm activity.

However, rain chances increase Monday afternoon through Tuesday, with showers continuing into the rest of the week.

After a mild and cloudy evening Sunday, the Chicago area is set to experience a week of rapidly changing weather, including rain, cooler temperatures, and even a chance of wet snow.

Chicago has already passed the date where the city sees its first trace of snow, but will we see wintry precipitation this month?
