Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada will soon see a major decline in immigration as the government attempts to fix its "mistakes."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s new viral video explaining the nation’s new immigration system has received mixed reactions on social media. Trudeau announced Canada will be capping immigration for the next three years after its population broke 41 million.

In a recent video message, Trudeau stated that Canada's population has grown rapidly over the past two years, but this growth has also been accompanied by exploitation.

Trudeau said Canada ramped up immigration to bolster the labour market after the Covid-19 pandemic and to stave off a recession. However, some "bad actors" manipulated these schemes for profit, he claimed.

Justin Trudeau said, "Increasingly bad actors like fake colleges and big chain corporations have been exploiting our immigration system for their own interests."
